Steve Clarke has rung the changes in his latest Scotland squad as Che Adams and Kevin Nisbet earn their maiden international call-ups, whilst five players are dropped.
Three of Clarke’s five changes come in Scotland’s attack as Callum Paterson, Lawrence Shankland and Leigh Griffiths all drop out, with Adams and Nisbet both coming into the fold for their maiden senior call-ups.
K.V. Oostende’s Jack Hendry comes in for his first international call-up since Clarke took charge of the Tartan Army, replacing Leeds’ Liam Cooper who is snubbed despite providing a consistent presence in the Whites’ defence.
Sheffield United’s Oliver Burke meanwhile misses out in midfield as fellow Blades teammate, John Fleck earns a recall after missing November’s fixtures.
Clarke meanwhile has opted to name an unchanged goalkeeper selection for the second consecutive international window, with Craig Gordon, David Marshall and Jon McLaughlin all recalled as Livingston’s Robby McCrorie again misses out.
Scotland will begin their bid to qualify for 2022 FIFA World Cup with a home clash against Austria at Hampden Park on Thursday 25 March 2021, before visiting Israel three days later (28 March) followed by a clash at home against Faroe Islands on 31 March to conclude this month’s international window.
All three of Scotland’s matches this month will kick off at 745pm GMT with live coverage available on Sky Sports.
