2020-21 Sky Bet Championship: Week 36 – Sunday

Relegation battling Sheffield Wednesday welcome Norwich City to Hillsborough in a huge conclusion to this weekend’s Sky Bet Championship action.

Victory would see Wednesday move level on points with third-bottom Rotherham but remain below the Millers on goal difference, whereas Norwich can extend their lead at the summit to 10 points again.

Keiren Westwood could return for Sheffield Wednesday if he can prove his fitness in time after a recent rib injury.

Andre Green (Achilles) is also a doubt but Fisayo Dele-Bashiru (ankle), Julian Borner (suspension), Joost van Aken (ankle), Massimo Luongo (thigh) and Moses Odubajo (hamstring) remain absent.

Norwich will be without Adam Idah after the Irish striker suffered a hernia issue in training this week.

Ben Gibson (hamstring) is a doubt but Marco Stiepermann and Orjan Nyland are available for selection following recovery of match fitness.

Michael McGovern and Sam Byram (both hamstring) remain ruled out.

Prediction

Sheffield Wednesday come into this match with six consecutive defeats but just two of those losses were at home, of which both came by narrow margins too so I expect them to try and make this a tough contest for Norwich given that the Owls have won five of their last seven home matches.

Norwich meanwhile know how to win by hook or crook given that they have won their last seven matches, even though they often have had to grind out those wins in recent rounds through clinical finishing so I wouldn’t be surprised if they turn up and look to dominate if get on front foot early.

I therefore am expecting to see a proper contest given the implications at both ends of the table but if Norwich are organised and take their chances well, I can see them getting the win to move them closer towards promotion.

Prediction: Sheffield Wednesday 1-2 Norwich City

Result: Sheffield Wednesday 1-2 Norwich City
