2020-21 Premier League: Week 28 – Everton vs Burnley

Everton look to continue their push for a top four finish as they welcome Burnley to Goodison Park.

Victory would see Everton climb to fifth for at least 26 hours, whereas Burnley could go 14th with a win.

Yerry Mina could return for Everton after missing their last three matches with a calf injury.

Robin Olsen, Seamus Coleman (both knock) and James Rodriguez (calf) are also set to be in contention if pass late fitness tests.

Jean-Philippe Gbamin (Achilles), Fabian Delph (muscle) and Abdoulaye Doucoure (unspecified) are ruled out.

Burnley could be without Charlie Taylor after the defender suffered a hamstring injury in last weekend’s draw against Arsenal.

Jack Cork (hamstring) is likely to not be risked in this match as Ashley Barnes (thigh) remains absent.

Prediction

Everton will be disappointed with their poor away effort at Chelsea on Monday because they rarely seemed to have a foothold in the game, as evidenced by just one shot on target so will certainly expect to see a better display here.

Burnley however should be able to play more expansive football than they did against Arsenal last weekend but if they can maintain their strong pressing, they should be able to cause some issues for the hosts who are missing Doucoure’s presence in midfield.

I however can see a home win coming if Everton turn up and deliver another clinical performance which they have often delivered in recent weeks, because the Clarets’ away record in this fixture is pretty poor to be frankly honest.

Prediction: Everton 1-0 Burnley

Result: Everton 1-2 Burnley
