Barnsley welcome Derby County to Oakwell in an rearranged Sky Bet Championship clash.
Victory would see the Tykes consolidate sixth and move four points clear of seventh-placed Bournemouth, whereas Derby can climb to 17th with a win.
Team News
Barnsley have no fresh injury concerns to report after Saturday’s win over Birmingham City.
Ben Williams remain their only absentee with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Derby will again be without David Marshall for a second consecutive match due to a back injury.
Krystian Bielik (knee), Jordan Ibe (fitness), Tom Lawrence (ankle) and Curtis Davies (Achilles) are all sidelined.
Stat Attack
- Barnsley have claimed just four points in their last six league meetings against Derby (W1, D1, L4).
- Derby are unbeaten in four of their last five league trips to Oakwell (W2, D2, L1)
- Daryl Dike has scored in three of Barnsley’s last four matches.
Prediction
Since late January, something has clicked for Barnsley with one defeat in their last ten matches across all competitions because they might not play fancy football but their pressing brand of attacking football is definitely causing serious issues for their opponents and momentum seems to be with the Tykes now.
Derby meanwhile looked to have slipped back into their sloppy ways away from Pride Park which is a real worry because their attack at times just seem to lack the usual spark we expect from this club, whilst their defence is often shipping goals.
This game however marks a huge opportunity for Barnsley to consolidate sixth in their bid for a play-off spot, which I can see them taking if can continue to do what they have been doing right in recent weeks because Derby look to be just wobbling again and I can’t see them getting a win here.
Prediction: Barnsley 1-0 Derby
Result: Barnsley 0-0 Derby
