Blackburn Rovers welcome Swansea City to Ewood Park in a rearranged Sky Bet Championship clash.
Victory will see Blackburn climb to 11th whereas Swansea can rise above Watford into second with a win.
Team News
Adam Armstrong is a doubt for Blackburn after missing Saturday’s win at Millwall with a knock.
Lewis Holtby (knee), Scott Wharton (Achilles) and Daniel Ayala (calf) remain ruled out.
Swansea have no fresh injury concerns to report after Saturday’s controversial win over Middlesbrough.
Liam Cullen, Steven Benda (both ankle), Ryan Bennett, Wayne Routledge (both calf) and Jordan Morris (knee) remain absent.
Stat Attack
- Blackburn are winless in their last five meetings against Swansea (D3, L2)
- Swansea have failed to win any of their last five league trips to Ewood Park (D3, L2).
- Rovers have scored at least twice in their last five home games against Swansea across all competitions.
- Ben Brereton has scored once in each of Blackburn’s last two home games, with his two goals coming in both halves.
- Andre Ayew has scored four goals in Swansea’s last three matches, of which three of his goals came from the penalty spot.
Prediction
Tony Mowbray rung the changes for Blackburn at Millwall on Saturday which paid off with two excellent goals in a sharper performance than seen of recent weeks, so I hope to see another decent changes with some players refreshed coming back into the lineup.
Swansea meanwhile come into this match off the back of a win marred by controversial refereeing but with Ayew in strong form and the rest of the squad getting stuck in when needed, this is a huge game if they’re to take second in the promotion fight.
It is worth acknowledging that Steve Cooper’s Swans were also often outplayed on Saturday so I can see another tough contest here, although their record at Ewood Park is quite dodgy which makes a draw a realistic bet.
Prediction: Blackburn 1-1 Swansea
Result: Blackburn 1-1 Swansea
