2020-21 Premier League: Week 26 – Crystal Palace vs Fulham

Crystal Palace welcome Fulham to Selhurst Park in a huge Super Sunday London derby live on BBC One.

Should Wolves lose at Newcastle on Saturday evening and Arsenal suffer defeat in the other Sunday lunchtime match, Palace can climb up to 11th.

Fulham meanwhile can move out of the relegation zone on goal difference with victory if Newcastle fail to take a point on Saturday night.

Nathaniel Clyne is ruled out for Palace with a muscle injury.

James McArthur, Wilfried Zaha (both muscle), Jeffrey Schlupp (hamstring), Wayne Hennessey, Mamadou Sakho, Nathan Ferguson, Connor Wickham (all thigh) and James Tomkins (eye) however are all still absent.

Fulham could welcome Aleksandr Mitrovic back after the striker missed the last few weeks with Coronavirus.

Tom Cairney remains absent with a knee injury.

Prediction

Having faced 25 shots against them at Brighton on Monday, Palace are lucky to not be coming into this game absolutely thrashed yet they were the more clinical, and instead snatched a sharp win despite relentless pressure on their defence.

Fulham meanwhile were just dominant against Sheffield Utd last Saturday because they looked more hungry for goals and survival than the Blades were, which paid dividends with a narrow win although poor spacing in defence luckily wasn’t punished.

Both teams therefore will be keen to build on two huge results so I am expecting a closely fought contest, not just for pride in the Big Smoke but also for momentum so I am plumping for a score draw because both teams look have they could cancel each other out here.

Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-1 Fulham

Result: Crystal Palace 0-0 Fulham
