2020-21 Premier League: Week 25 – Burnley vs West Brom

Burnley look to take a huge step further away from the relegation zone as they welcome West Bromwich Albion to Turf Moor.

Victory could see Burnley climb as high as 13th whereas West Brom will stay 19th no matter what result they achieve here, although a win would see Sam Allardyce’s Baggies move to within nine points of safety.

Ben Mee is set to be in contention to return for Burnley after sitting out Wednesday’s draw with Fulham with concussion.

Erik Pieters (groin), Chris Wood, Matej Vydra (both hamstring) and Dale Stephens (knock) all face late fitness tests, whilst Johann Berg Gudmundsson (hamstring) and Robbie Brady (ankle) are ruled out.

West Brom could be without Robert Snodgrass due to a knee injury, although he and Lee Peltier (ankle) both will be handed late fitness tests.

Grady Diangana (hamstring) is also a doubt but Kieran Gibbs is ruled out with neck and shoulder issues.

Stat Attack

Prediction

This match represents Burnley’s second clash against a team battling relegation in three days and if they can continue to show their positive attacking energy, this could be a good win against a team who have struggled defensively on the road all season.

West Brom however looked positive in last weekend’s draw against Manchester United with creative attacking play, whilst defending well at the other end but they need a repeat performance here if want to build momentum in their survival bid.

I therefore expect to see a good game here because Burnley look ready to make their breakaway run towards safety, whereas West Brom need to start getting results and particularly wins but I just can’t see the three points coming here.

Prediction: Burnley 1-1 WBA

Result: Burnley 0-0 WBA
