Brentford have no fresh injury concerns to report as Bryan Mbeumo looks to return after sitting out Saturday’s ruthless 7-2 win over Wycombe.

Winston Reid could make his Bees debut after signing on loan from West Ham on deadline day.

Pontus Jansson, Christian Norgaard (both ankle), Charlie Goode (illness), Emiliano Marcondes (back) and Shandon Baptiste (knee) remain absent.

Bristol City could hand a debut appearance for new signing, Henri Lansbury whilst Jamie Paterson looks to return after almost three months out with a groin injury.

Steven Sessegnon (hamstring) and Joe Williams (thigh) reman ruled out.

Stat Attack

  • Brentford have lost just one of last five meetings against Bristol City (W2, D2, L1).
  • Bristol City have won just one of their last six trips to Brentford (W1, D3, L2), although this is the Robins’ first trip to Brentford Community Stadium.
  • Thomas Frank’s Bees has scored more than one goal in three of their last four home games.

Prediction

Brentford were just excellent in their dismantling of Wycombe on Saturday despite the Chairboys twice pegging them back in the first half, but the Bees showed why they are serious promotion contenders because they just stepped their game up to a level that Wycombe failed to live with in the second half.

Bristol City meanwhile were narrowly beaten at Derby through an early error so will definitely pose a tricky test here, although they will certainly be hoping that Lansbury is able to have an instant impact otherwise I can see the Bees delivering another comfortable home win.

Prediction: Brentford 2-0 Bristol City

Result: Brentford 3-2 Bristol City
