Brighton & Hove Albion welcome Tottenham Hotspur to the Amex Stadium in the concluding Super Sunday clash in Sunday Night Football.
Brighton can move seven points clear of the relegation zone with a win, whereas Tottenham could go fifth with victory if West Ham lose to Liverpool on Sunday teatime.
Team News
Brighton have no fresh injury concerns to report but Alireza Jahanbakhsh and Danny Welbeck could return next weekend from respective ankle and knee injuries.
Tariq Lamptey (hamstring), Jose Izquierdo (knee), Florian Andone (knee) and Jason Steele (undisclosed) remain absent.
Tottenham will be without Harry Kane after the England striker injured both ankles during Thursday’s defeat to Liverpool.
Sergio Reguilon (muscle), Giovani Lo Celso (thigh) and Dele Alli (unspecified) are also sidelined.
Stat Attack
- Brighton have taken just four points from seven Premier League meetings against Tottenham (W1, D1, L5).
- Tottenham have won just one of three previous Premier League visits to Brighton (W1, D1, L1).
- There has been no red cards in seven Premier League clashes between Brighton and Spurs.
- No Brighton player has attempted more shots in the league this season than the 43 shots produced by Neal Maupay.
- Tottenham’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has drawn more fouls than any other Premier League player so far this season, finding himself fouled on 20 occasions in 19 league appearances.
Prediction
Brighton put in a strong attacking performance but rash decision making cost them when it came to the end product of their attacks, especially with Leandro Trossard because if he had been more patient in the 15th minute with his shot then the Seagulls should of beat Fulham on Wednesday evening.
Tottenham meanwhile were outplayed by Liverpool in the second-half of their encounter after a competitive opening half, with their defending in particular proving their undoing plus losing Kane and Reguilon are major losses when it comes to goal build-up creativity.
This will therefore be an interesting match because Brighton just have to go for it here whilst continuing to defend well, whereas Tottenham will have to adapt their attacking approach but if they struggle to click up front then I can see a surprise win coming.
Prediction: Brighton 1-0 Tottenham
Result: Brighton 1-0 Tottenham
