England, Scotland, Wales, Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland have all discovered their qualifying groups for 2023 UEFA U21 Euros.
Aidy Boothroyd’s Young Lions have been placed in Qualifying Group G alongside Czech Republic, Slovenia, Kosovo, Andorra and Albania, of whom the senior team also share a qualifying group with but in their 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualification bid.
Scotland’s youngsters have been placed in Qualifying Group I which coincidentally contains Denmark, of whom their senior team also face in their World Cup qualifying group.
Scott Gemmill’s young Tartan Army meanwhile will also take on Belgium, Kazakhstan and Turkey alongside the Danes.
Wales have been put in Qualifying Group E which contains; Netherlands, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Moldova and Gibraltar.
Republic of Ireland find themselves in Qualifying Group F containing Italy, Sweden, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro and coincidentally Luxembourg, of who the Irish senior team face in Group A of their 2022 World Cup qualifying mission.
Northern Ireland have been handed a difficult Qualifying Group C containing Spain, Russia, Slovakia, Malta plus Lithuania, of which the Norn Iron’s senior squad will meet in their bid to reach 2022 World Cup.
Here are the groups in full from Groups A-I with qualifying set to be held from March 202 to June 2022 with Georgia and Romania directly qualified as co-hosts of the finals tournament to be held in June 2023, with nine group winners and the best runner-up automatically progressing.
Eight remaining runner-ups will meanwhile enter the play-offs for the four last spots in the finals tournament.
This year’s edition meanwhile will be held across March and late May-early June with the Group Stage played in late March before the knockouts take place once club football concludes, in order to avoid a clash with the rescheduled Euro 2020 which is set to be held from 11 June-11 July 2021.
