2020-21 Premier League: Week 20 – Everton vs Leicester

Everton welcome Leicester to Goodison Park in a mouth-watering midweek Premier League encounter.

Victory could put Everton up to fourth whereas Leicester could go top with a massive win as long as Manchester United lose at home to Sheffield United.

Lucas Digne and Alex Iwobi could both return for Everton after missing their FA Cup win over Sheffield Wednesday with unspecified injuries.

Allan (thigh), Fabian Delph (muscle), Niels Nkounkou (hamstring) and Jean-Phillipe Gbamin (fitness) are still ruled out whilst Abdoulaye Doucoure is suspended.

Leicester have no fresh injury concerns to report as Wes Morgan (back), Dennis Praet (hamstring) and Jamie Vardy (hernia) remain absent.

Prediction

Everton put in a cracking performance to defeat Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup on Sunday after almost two weeks off, yet this will be a tough test given Leicester’s form and will pose sterner opposition than the Owls provided.

Leicester meanwhile found themselves in quite a scrap at Brentford on Sunday afternoon before comfortably prevailing in a strong second-half effort, although if look at their last league game then you have to fancy them to come here and cause trouble on the flanks for Seamus Coleman and Lucas Digne.

Carlo Ancelotti’s Toffees though have proven tricky customers for Leicester to deal with so this will certainly be a tough encounter for both teams, so I am going for a surprise high-scoring draw here.

Prediction: Everton 2-2 Leicester

Result: Everton 1-1 Leicester
