2020-21 Sky Bet Championship: Week 26 – Saturday

QPR welcome Derby County to Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium in tasty clash near the Sky Bet Championship relegation zone.

Victory could lift QPR up to 15th in the table and ten points clear of relegation, whereas Derby look to move five points clear of the drop and could rise above Nottingham Forest into 20th with a win.

Lee Wallace could return for QPR if he recovers from a calf injury that sidelined the Left-Back in recent weeks.

Jordy de Wijs (fitness) is a doubt and could join Luke Amos plus Charlie Owens (both knee) on sidelines.

Derby could again be without David Marshall due to illness which forced him to miss their last two games against Rotherham and Bournemouth.

Jack Stretton (groin), Tom Lawrence (ankle) and Curtis Davies (Achilles) are ruled out.

Stat Attack

  • QPR have lost just one of their last six meetings against Derby (W2, D3, L1), with all three draws finishing in 1-1 results.
  • Derby have won just one of their last eight away trips to QPR (W1, D4, L3).
  • QPR have conceded in five of their last six home matches against Derby.

Prediction

QPR have made a decent start to 2021 in the Championship with two strong wins coupled with clean sheets, yet both wins came on the road as the Hoops come into this game with one home win in their last six matches in West London.

Derby meanwhile continue to show improvement but consistency is again a huge worry with two losses in their last three games which all finished with 1-0 results, which is a slight worry given their poor away form in this fixture.

Draws though seem to be preferred in recent meetings so I am expecting a tight game here between two teams looking to boost their survival hopes, although Derby need a win but I just can’t see either team winning here despite QPR probably being my tip on form.

Prediction: QPR 1-1 Derby

Result: QPR 0-1 Derby
