Third takes on fifth in Saturday’s big Sky Bet Championship clash as Swansea host Watford at the Liberty Stadium.
Victory could send Swansea second after Brentford’s clash against Bristol City was postponed, whilst Watford can temporarily go fourth with a win ahead of Bournemouth’s prime-time trip to Stoke.
Team News
Ryan Bennett is a doubt for Swansea after suffering a hamstring injury during Wednesday’s goalless draw against Reading.
Kyle Naughton (muscle), Liam Cullen (Coronavirus) and Morgan Gibbs-White (foot) remain absent.
Watford will again be without Domingos Quina (hamstring), Craig Cathcart (hamstring), Tom Dele-Bashiru (knee) and Isaac Success (Achilles) after their midweek clash at Millwall was postponed.
Stat Attack
- Swansea have lost just one of their last five Championship meetings against Watford (W2, D2, L1).
- Watford have won just one of their last five league trips to Swansea (W1, D3, L1).
- Swansea have kept clean sheets in their last four home games, although two results were goalless draws.
Prediction
Swansea delivered a dominant performance against Reading on Wednesday but the Royals were a tough defensive challenge to break down, and Watford will be a similar task after the Hornets made a positive start to life under Xisco Munoz.
Watford meanwhile have had a week off to prepare for this clash so I am expecting them to come here and look to correct their recent slip in away form, especially after they netted just one goal in their last four games on the road.
This therefore should be another tough encounter but Swansea have been a difficult place for Watford to get a result at, so I am going for a narrow home win.
Prediction: Swansea 1-0 Watford
Result: Swansea 2-1 Watford
