Crystal Palace welcome Sheffield United to Selhurst Park in a huge clash for both teams in their survival missions.
Palace can temporarily rise to 12th with victory whilst Chris Wilder’s Blades look to get their first win of the season and kick-start a huge relegation survival mission.
Team News
Gary Cahill could return for Palace after missing their last two matches with a hamstring injury.
Wayne Hennessey, Nathan Ferguson, Connor Wickham (all thigh) and Martin Kelly (calf) remain absent.
Sheffield Utd could have Oli McBurnie available after he recovered from a knock that saw him miss Tuesday’s defeat at Burnley.
Phil Jagielka, Billy Sharp (both Coronavirus), Jack O’Connell (knee), Sander Berge (hamstring) and John Lundstram (suspension) are absent.
Stat Attack
- Palace lost two of their four previous Premier League meetings against Sheffield Utd (W2, L2).
- Sheffield Utd have won just one of their last five trips to Selhurst Park (W1, D1, L3).
- Chris Wilder’s Blades won both meetings last season by 1-0 results.
- Wilfried Zaha has produced 34 of Palace’s 158 shots so far this season.
- No Sheffield Utd player has played more crosses this season than John Lundstram with 47 crosses in 12 league appearances.
Prediction
Palace certainly found themselves in a battle against Leicester but with excellent defending and a clinical strike from Zaha, they were able to get a hard-earned point despite a defensive error in the closing minutes cost them a win although they would of certainly learned valuable lessons ahead of this clash.
Sheffield Utd meanwhile just never give up but this season just isn’t working out because their defending lately has improved considerably yet they just can’t seem to convert their shots into goals with several wasted shots, which was evident against Burnley on Tuesday through several poor finishing touches on their chances.
This therefore should be a tight contest between two teams who are good at defending but Palace currently look much better in the attacking department, and it is tough to not see them winning this game despite their recent slip in form.
Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-0 Sheffield United
Result: Crystal Palace 2-0 Sheffield United
