2020-21 Premier League: Week 12 – Arsenal vs Burnley

Arsenal welcome Burnley to the Emirates Stadium live on Sky Sports in one of two Sunday Night Football clashes which concludes a packed Super Sunday from the Premier League.

Victory will see Arsenal climb above Leeds into 14th position and move ten points clear of relegation, whereas Burnley could climb out of the relegation zone with a win if Fulham fail to beat Liverpool earlier in the day.

David Luiz is a doubt for Arsenal as he continues to recover from a head injury which saw him miss their last three matches.

Reiss Nelson (head) and Sead Kolasinac (undisclosed) are also potential absentees and could join Nicholas Pepe (suspension), Thomas Partey (thigh) and Gabriel Martinelli (fitness) on sidelines.

Burnley could welcome Johann Berg Gudmundsson back from a muscle injury along with Phil Bardsley (back) and Dale Stephens (hamstring) as Jack Cork (ankle) remains absent.

Robbie Brady could also feature after being substituted last weekend with fatigue on his return from a hamstring injury.

Prediction

Now that their Europa League adventures are on pause until February, Arsenal simply have to raise their domestic game because they have just been lacklustre since mid October even though they did dominate at Tottenham last Sunday despite failing to score.

Burnley meanwhile made a strong start but sloppy man-marking allowed Everton to equalise, which is one aspect that must be absolutely precise here against this Arsenal team but Nick Pope last week proved the difference with a number of saves to earn the Clarets a point.

Either way, there is no excuses for Arsenal to not deliver here given their record against Burnley but they really need to score first and convert their European form domestically, otherwise Burnley will be sniffing an opportunity here given that their confidence on the up.

Prediction: Arsenal 1-1 Burnley

Result: Arsenal 0-1 Burnley
