2020-21 Sky Bet Championship: Week 18

Blackburn Rovers welcome Norwich City to Ewood Park in Saturday’s huge Sky Bet Championship clash.

A win could lift Blackburn as high as seventh whilst Norwich will remain at the summit with victory and potentially extend their lead to six points depending on results elsewhere.

Darragh Lenihan is available for Blackburn after serving an one match ban in midweek after his red card at Brentford last weekend.

Scott Wharton (Achilles), Lewis Travis (knee) and Elliott Bennett (ankle) remain sidelined.

Norwich have no fresh injury concerns to report after beating Nottingham Forest in midweek as Lukas Rupp and Tim Krul remain absent with respective hamstring and thigh injuries.

Stat Attack

  • Blackburn are winless in their last six matches against Norwich (D1, L5).
  • Norwich have won each of their last three visits to Ewood Park (W3), scoring seven goals and conceding twice.
  • Adam Armstrong has scored four goals in his last three home appearances for Blackburn.

Prediction

Blackburn will be disappointed with Wednesday’s defeat but with a packed schedule of nine rounds in five weeks nearing its end, Tony Mowbray’s men can take heart in their goal-scoring ability which will be an important factor if can take their chances here.

Norwich meanwhile were pushed to their maximum by Forest but clever substitution tactics proved the difference which will provide Daniel Farke’s Canaries with belief heading into this clash because Blackburn will be a difficult team to keep quiet when allowed to get a foothold in the match.

Either way, this is going to be a cracking match between two attacking teams and given the squad rotation amongst both teams, I am punting for a score draw.

Prediction: Blackburn 1-1 Norwich

Result: Blackburn 1-2 Norwich
