2020-21 Sky Bet Championship: Week 13 – Tuesday

Stoke City welcome Norwich City to the BET365 Stadium in Tuesday’s big Sky Bet Championship clash

With majority of teams within the top six not playing until Wednesday, victory could send Stoke to the league summit for at least a hour depending on how Bournemouth fare against Nottingham Forest.

Norwich meanwhile know that a win would see them remain top heading into the weekend regardless of what Bournemouth do in their late Tuesday match.

Stoke have no fresh injury concerns to report after Saturday’s seven goal thriller win over Huddersfield.

James McClean (Coronavirus), Jordan Thompson, Angus Gun (both ankle) and Adam Davies (knee) remain absent.

Norwich will be without Jordan Hugill after the striker was subbed at half-time during Saturday’s win at Middlesbrough with a shoulder injury.

Kenny McLean is also absent with a knee injury which sees him join Todd Cantwell, Xavi Quintilla (both hip), Bali Mumba and Adam Idah (both knee) on sidelines.

Stat Attack

  • Stoke are unbeaten in their last five meetings against Norwich (W2, D3).
  • Norwich have won just one of their last 11 trips to Stoke (W1, D3, L7).
  • Five of Tyrese Campbell’s six goals for Stoke in all competitions this season have come at the BET365 Stadium.

Having produced a gutsy performance on Saturday against Huddersfield, Stoke will come into this match full of confidence but their defending will have to massively improve, especially against a team like Norwich if the Potters are to stand a shot at victory and challenge for promotion.

Norwich on other hand showed admirable patience in a tightly fought contest at Boro to ultimately benefit from a mixture of luck and clinical finishing from the penalty spot, but against an attack minded team like Stoke, they need another strong sharp performance if are to win here.

Daniel Farke’s Canaries however do possess the superior quality defensively which is where this match could be won and lost but given the unpredictable nature of the Championship and their poor away record at Stoke, I am going for a surprise home win here.

Prediction: Stoke City 2-1 Norwich City

Result: Stoke City 2-3 Norwich City
