Just over three months on from hosting Swansea in their final-ever match at Griffin Park in their Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Semi-Final, Brentford welcome the second-placed Swans to the Brentford Community Stadium.
Victory could see Thomas Frank’s Bees climb as high as third if results in Tuesday’s other games swing their way, whilst Swansea can cut their deficit to league leaders, Reading down to a single point with victory before the Royals face Preston on Wednesday.
Brentford manager, Thomas Franks has no fresh injury concerns from Saturday’s away victory at Luton as he considers naming an unchanged starting eleven, with Pontus Jansson set for the bench if he recovers from a hamstring injury.
Swansea have no fresh injury concerns to report following Saturday’s win over Stoke as Morgan Gibbs-White (foot) and George Byers (groin) remain sidelined.
- Brentford have won three of their last five Championship meetings against Swansea (W3, L2)
- Swansea are unbeaten in three of their last five trips to the Bees (W3, L2), although this is their first trip to the new Brentford Community Stadium.
- Ivan Toney has scored five goals in four home appearances for Brentford in the Championship this season.
Brentford come into this game in good form and with Toney in great form, they definitely will be a difficult team to stop but Swansea too have put their own play-off heartbreak behind them quickly with a series of solid consistent performances which has seen them go second.
I therefore feel that we certainly will see goals in this game although defending will be crucial as well as clinical finishing of chances if either team is to edge this encounter, but I seriously can see this ending in a tightly fought score draw given the form of both teams.
Prediction: Brentford 1-1 Swansea
Result: Brentford 1-1 Swansea
