2020-21 Sky Bet Championship: Week Nine – Saturday

Bristol City look to bounce back from their midweek defeat at Bournemouth as they welcome Norwich City to Ashton Gate in Saturday’s big Sky Bet Championship clash.

Both teams enter this match locked on 14 points with the Robins sat just above Norwich on goal difference, but victory will send the winners of this clash up to second ahead of the mid-afternoon games.

Bristol City will be without Andreas Weimann after the Austrian forward was ruled out for rest of season with a knee injury suffered in last Saturday’s draw against Swansea.

Alfie Mawson (knee), Steven Sessegnon and Nathan Baker (both hamstring) are sidelined.

Norwich could be without Todd Cantwell after the midfielder was subbed at half-time against Brentford in midweek as he continues to struggle with a hip injury.

Josh Martin (back), Sam Byram (hamstring) and Onel Hernandez (adductor) are all ruled out.

Prediction

With injuries piling up for Bristol City, they have done a solid job so far to concede just once in each of their last three matches despite losing two of those games, so expect to see another tough defensive performance from them here.

Norwich meanwhile seem to have found their scoring boots lately despite conceding three goals in their last four outings which demonstrates that the Canaries are slowly beginning to hit their stride, although their defending still needs work.

I therefore can see a tough battle here between two solid teams and a score draw wouldn’t be the worst result for either team at this stage of the season.

Prediction: Bristol City 1-1 Norwich City

Result: Bristol City 1-3 Norwich City
