2019-20 Premier League: Week 38 – Burnley vs Brighton

Burnley look to end a solid season on a high as they welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to Turf Moor.

If Burnley can better Sheffield United’s result with ideally a win then the Clarets could finish eighth, whereas Brighton could finish 15th with victory depending on how West Ham fare against Aston Villa.

Burnley have no fresh injury concerns to report as Charlie Taylor remains absent with a hamstring injury.

Matt Lowton (foot), Jack Cork (ankle), Ben Mee (thigh), Ben Gibson (fitness) and Ashley Barnes (hernia) still remain sidelined for the Clarets’ final game of this season.

Brighton could have Alireza Jahanbakhsh available if he passes a late fitness test on a hamstring injury.

Steven Alzate (groin) and Jose Izquierdo (knee) both remain absent.

Prediction

Although this match is a dead rubber, I am hoping that this game will still be a tense battle because both teams are solid even if Burnley have been the better team in digging deep to claw unexpected points.

Brighton though on their day can be just as strong as the Clarets but defending is often their downfall, so I can see a draw coming here if Burnley aren’t at their clinical best on the day.

Prediction: Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Result: Burnley 1-2 Brighton
