2019-20 Premier League: Week 37 – Tottenham vs Leicester

Tottenham Hotspur face a crunch test in their bid for a top six finish as they welcome Leicester City to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Super Sunday.

At least one point for Tottenham will send them sixth whilst Leicester can climb to third with a win, placing pressure on Chelsea and Manchester United in the race for a top four finish.

Lucas Moura is a doubt for Tottenham due to fatigue from the hectic scheduling of recent weeks.

Juan Foyth, Tanguy Ndombele (both knee), Eric Dier (suspension) are ruled out whilst Dele Alli could potentially return from a thigh injury if declared fit.

Leicester will be without James Maddison and Ben Chilwell for their last two matches of this season with respective hip and foot injuries.

Caglar Soyuncu (suspension), Christian Fuchs (groin), Daniel Amartey (ankle) and Ricardo Pereira (knee) remain absent, although Marc Albrighton could feature if declared fit despite nursing a knock from last Sunday’s loss at Bournemouth.

Prediction

Tottenham probably have to win this if they want to avoid scrapping solely for seventh, which could potentially mean a hectic start to next season with Europa League qualifying on top of domestic games.

Leicester meanwhile were fantastic against Sheffield United in terms of possession and creativity, which was a marked contrast to recent performances but they have to again bring that type of play here if want to win because Spurs do like their possession play.

Do that then we have a cracking possession based game in store otherwise this could be difficult to call, although I am going for a Leicester win because fatigue does seem to be seeping into Tottenham’s play more despite a strong midweek win at Newcastle.

Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur 1-2 Leicester City

Result: Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 Leicester City
