2019-20 Premier League: Week 34 – Bournemouth vs Tottenham Hotspur

Bournemouth face a tough test of their Premier League survival credentials as they welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Vitaly Stadium.

A win for the Cherries would lift them above Aston Villa and to within a point of safety, whereas Tottenham could go seventh with victory.

Bournemouth could welcome Steve Cook back from a hamstring strain if he passes a late fitness test.

Andrew Surman (knock) could also feature but Jack Stacey (calf), Chris Mepham, Charlie Daniels and Simon Francis (all knee) are ruled out.

Tottenham could have Dele Alli available after he missed Monday’s win over Everton with a thigh injury.

Eric Dier begins a four match ban for a crowd incident pre-lockdown whilst Juan Foyth (knee) and Japhet Tanganga (back) remain ruled out.

Prediction

Following Watford’s win over Norwich on Tuesday, Bournemouth simply have to win here if they’re to realistically keep their survival hopes alive because their last four games are tough.

Tottenham on other hand are embarking on their third game in seven days, so we should expect some rotation after Monday’s scrappy win because if Bournemouth show the same spirit that they did at weekend then this could be a tough encounter.

Defending however has been the Cherries’ biggest issue and I can’t see much improving here against an inconsistent Spurs team.

Prediction: Bournemouth 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur

Result: Bournemouth 0-0 Tottenham Hotspur
