Sky Bet Championship action returns with a bang as Fulham welcome Brentford to Craven Cottage in a blockbuster West-London derby.
A win for the Cottagers will move them to within three points of second-placed West Brom, whilst fourth-placed Brentford can move to within a single point of their hosts with victory.
Team news
Embed from Getty ImagesFulham loanee, Terence Kongolo is unlikely to be risked in this match as he nears a return from a foot injury.
Centre-back, Alfie Mawson is also expected to miss out with a knee injury.
Brentford have a full squad available for selection after various players made full recoveries during lockdown, including Pontus Jansson who had been out since January with a hip injury.
Stat Attack
- Fulham have taken five points from their last five league meetings against Brentford (W1, D2, L2).
- Last three meetings between Fulham and Brentford at Craven Cottage have all finished in draws.
- Five of Brentford’s last nine away league goals have come before half-time.
Prediction
This is a tough game to predict because of the fact that it is behind closed doors, yet marks the first proper crucial clash in the race for promotion given that a defeat for Fulham could send their top two bid on a downward spiral.
These teams can’t even be separated in the head-to-head form much given how evenly matched they’re, which only makes it tougher to call but I do feel that Brentford will just want it that bit more given that they’re ten points off automatic promotion.
Prediction: Fulham 1-2 Brentford
Result: Fulham 0-2 Brentford
