2019-20 UEFA Champions League Round of 16: Second Leg – RB Leipzig vs Tottenham Hotspur

Last season’s finalists, Tottenham Hotspur look to overturn an one goal deficit if they want to reach the Quarter Finals, as they visit RB Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena.

RB Leipzig know that anything other than defeat would put them through because Spurs realistically need at least two goals, if they are to progress as either victors or via the away goal rule.

Ethan Ampadu is a doubt for RB Leipzig with a back injury as injury issues continue to plague the Welsh youngster.

Kevin Kampl (ankle) is another doubt but Ibrahima Konate (hamstring) and Willi Orban (knee) are both ruled out.

Tottenham will be without Steven Bergwijn after the Dutch winger suffered a sprained ankle in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Burnley.

Ben Davies, Harry Kane (both hamstring), Juan Foyth (groin), Son Heung-min (arm) and Moussa Sissoko (knee) are all sidelined.

Prediction

Tottenham have to start better than they did at Burnley on Saturday because if they don’t, I can see RB Leipzig needing to take full advantage quickly otherwise Spurs could eventually break them down and find those two goals.

I however just don’t see Tottenham doing that on current form and with Bergwijn out, their attacking threat is even lighter which should be enough for RB Leipzig nicking a draw to progress.

Prediction: RB Leipzig 1-1 Tottenham Hotspur

Result: RB Leipzig 3-0 Tottenham Hotspur (RB Leipzig win 4-0 on aggregate)
