Nottingham Forest continue their promotion bid as they welcome Millwall to the City Ground in this weekend’s opening Sky Bet Championship clash.
Forest can move level on points with third-placed Fulham if they win, whilst Millwall can climb to seventh with victory.
Team news
Embed from Getty ImagesTiago Silva is set to be absent for Nottingham Forest after suffering appendicitis prior to Monday’s draw at Middlesbrough.
Samba Sow and Tendayi Darikwa are still out with knee injuries whilst Nuno da Costa (muscle) is doubtful.
Millwall could have Shaun Williams and Ryan Leonard available if both recover from illness in time, despite recently struggling with hip and knee injuries.
Frank Fielding (arm) and Ben Thompson (ankle) remain sidelined.
Form
Forest enter this match with one defeat in their last six (W2, D3, L1), although they have kept just two clean sheets in their last five home games.
Millwall head into this game with six points from their last five (W1, D3, L1), whilst keeping three clean sheets in their last five away trips.
Stat Attack
- Nottingham Forest are winless in their last four meetings against Millwall (D2, L2).
- Millwall are unbeaten in four of their last five trips to the City Ground (W3, D1, L1).
- Forest have scored first in two of their last three away games.
Prediction
Neither team are currently playing well but are grinding out the results which is a crucial element if either team want to push for promotion in the run-in.
I therefore am expecting a good competitive game because Forest in recent weeks have looked vulnerable at the back, which is a slight concern because they need to stop leaking goals if want to challenge for at least the second automatic promotion spot.
Millwall meanwhile will be desperate to snatch at least a point so I have a feeling that we are set to see a draw here.
Prediction: Nottingham Forest 1-1 Millwall
