2019-20 UEFA Europa League: Round of 32 First Leg – Copenhagen vs Celtic

Celtic look to continue their Europa League adventure as they visit Copenhagen in the first leg of their Last 32 tie at Telia Parken.

With another domestic treble looking likely, Celtic will surely fancy their chances of going deep in this competition but must get past Copenhagen first.

Team news

Copenhagen will be without a host of key players, including ex Arsenal striker – Nicklas Bendtner.

Viktor Fischer, Jonas Wind, Robert Mudrazija and Nicolai Boilesen are also absent for the Danish team.

Celtic will be without Leigh Griffiths after the Scottish striker suffered a knock in training.

Mikey Johnston and Jack Hendry are out with long-term knee injuries.

Prediction

Celtic have a huge opportunity to go deep in this tournament given Copenhagen’s quality without players of Bendtner and Fischer’s calibre available.

The fact that Copenhagen failed to score more than once despite their strong defence in the group stage is a huge concern in my opinion, because if Celtic can turn up and get on the front foot quickly then I can’t see anything other than an away win here once they break the Danish side down.

Prediction: Copenhagen 0-2 Celtic

Result: Copenhagen 1-1 Celtic
