2019-20 Sky Bet Championship: Week 28 – Saturday

QPR welcome Leeds United to the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium in Saturday’s big Sky Bet Championship match.

A home win will lift QPR temporarily up to at least 13th whereas Leeds can go top for at least 56 hours if they take victory here.

Team news

Jack Clarke could make his first start for QPR since signing on loan from Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday.

Toni Leistner is also in contention to start after recovering from a hamstring injury, whereas Yoann Barbet remains ruled out with a similar injury which has kept him on sidelines since late October.

Leeds will have Stuart Dallas available after recovering from a knock suffered during last weekend’s home loss to Sheffield Wednesday.

Barry Douglas (knock), Adam Forshaw (hip) and Tyler Roberts (hamstring) are ruled out.

Form

QPR come into this game with four points from their last six league games (W1, D1, L4), although they have scored in seven of their last eight home outings (W2, D3, L3).

Leeds arrive here with just one win in their last six league matches (W1, D3, L2), and no clean sheets in their last four away trips in all competitions.

Stat Attack

  • QPR have won just one of their last five league meetings against Leeds United (W1, L4).
  • Leeds have won just one of their last six trips to the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium in all competitions (W1, D1, L4).
  • Leeds have lost each of their four trips to London in all competitions this season.

Prediction

Leeds really need to raise their game here because the city of London has been their Achilles heel this season, which is a huge worry on top of possibly coming up against a former recent player in Clarke.

QPR have also found home form in recent outings in which they mauled Cardiff and Swansea in quick succession in two different competitions, underlining how dangerous the Hoops can be on their day against teams who are inconsistent on the road.

I therefore am expecting a good game here between two quality teams but Leeds haven’t been impressive on the road lately, never mind in London so am going for another miserable result in the Capital.

Prediction: QPR 2-1 Leeds United

Result: QPR 1-0 Leeds United
