Norwich City look to continue their fight against relegation as they welcome Wolves to Carrow Road.
The Canaries will definitely be spending Christmas in the relegation zone but a win can move them closer towards safety, whilst Wolves could temporarily go fifth with victory if Sheffield United lose elsewhere.
Team news
Embed from Getty ImagesTeemu Pukki is doubtful for Norwich with a toe injury, despite playing the majority of their draw at Leicester last weekend with the issue.
Grant Hanley however is expected to return after two months out with a groin injury, whilst Ben Godfrey misses out with a knee injury.
Josip Drmic (muscle) and Timm Klose (knee) both remain long-term absentees.
Wolves have no fresh injury concerns with Morgan Gibbs-White nearing a return from a back injury.
Willy Boly however is still sidelined with an ankle injury picked up at the end of October.
Form
Norwich have taken five points from their last five matches, but have taken just a single point from their last five home games despite scoring in four of those outings.
Wolves saw their 11 league match unbeaten run ended last weekend by Tottenham, although they have lost just one of their eight away games this season.
Stat Attack
- Norwich have taken ten points from their last five meetings with Wolves (W3, D1, L1), although they all came in the Championship.
- Wolves haven’t beaten Norwich in two previous Premier League meetings (D1, L1), of which both came in 2011-12 season.
- Wolves have scored in each of their last four meetings with Norwich.
- No Norwich player has scored a free-kick this season.
- No Wolves player has won more aerial battles this season than Matt Doherty, who has won 66 aerial battles.
Prediction
This is a huge test for Norwich because Wolves will be hurting after Sunday’s last gasp defeat, and will therefore be a dangerous team on the attack as they try to keep their top five hopes alive.
I however think that the Canaries will be more than a sparring partner because they produced an excellent display to halt Leicester’s winning run last weekend, which is a positive result coming into a difficult game like this.
A draw therefore would be a great result but Norwich haven’t been particularly good at home this season, which is why I reckon Wolves will edge this.
Prediction: Norwich 1-2 Wolves
Result: Norwich 1-2 Wolves
