Max Verstappen Tops Final Practice for Abu Dhabi GP

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen topped Final Practice for this weekend’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix from Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas. 

Verstappen set the fastest lap of a 1m 36.566 with four minutes left to lead Lewis Hamilton by 0.074s, whilst Bottas was a further 0.015s behind Hamilton.

Alex Albon meanwhile sits fourth after a late flier on the softs but is 0.361s off his teammate, Verstappen. 

Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc round out the top six after doing their quali simulations on the medium compound, leaving them around fourth tenths slower. 

Sergio Perez leads the best of the rest pack in seventh ahead of Daniel Ricciardo and Carlos Sainz, as Pierre Gasly round out the top ten ahead of Romain Grosjean. 

Qualifying gets underway at 1:00pm (GMT) as drivers look to secure their best possible grid slots ahead of the final race of this season.
