2019-20 Premier League: Week 11 – Bournemouth vs Manchester United

Manchester United look to make it four consecutive away victories in nine days as they visit Bournemouth at the Vitaly Stadium.

Both teams are currently locked on 13 points coming into this weekend, although there is a +3 goal difference in Man Utd’s favour so whoever wins will temporarily go fifth ahead of the mid-afternoon games.

Bournemouth have no fresh injury concerns to report with just four players still sidelined.

David Brooks (ankle), Dan Gosling (groin), Charlie Daniels and Junior Stanislas (both knee) are still sidelined, although Brooks could return next weekend at Newcastle United.

Manchester United could be without three key players after Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire and Marcus Rashford all picked up knocks at Chelsea in midweek.

Luke Shaw meanwhile could return from a hamstring injury after two months out, alongside Nemanja Matic, who has missed recent games with an undisclosed injury.

Paul Pogba (ankle), Eric Bailly, Timothy Fosu-Mensah (both knee), Axel Tuanzebe (hip) and Diogo Dalot (groin) are all ruled out.

Form

Bournemouth enter this match off the back of two consecutive goalless draws but are unbeaten in six of their last seven league games, with their first home clean sheet coming against Norwich a fortnight ago.

Man Utd arrive here off the back of three consecutive away wins, although Sunday’s win over the Canaries ended a four match winless league run.

Stat Attack

Prediction

Bournemouth have been solid in recent weeks because whilst playing their usual attacking game, their defensive performance has improved which could be key against a resurgent Man Utd.

That is however if Rashford plays because if he doesn’t then I do worry that Utd’s away niggles could quickly return and make them vulnerable on the attack, which Bournemouth will ruthlessly take advantage of if given the chance.

I therefore see a tougher away test than what Norwich proved to be on Sunday so am going for a draw here.

Prediction: Bournemouth 1-1 Manchester United

Result: Bournemouth 1-0 Manchester United
