After making a winning start to life in Group G of this season’s Europa League, Rangers head to Switzerland as they take on Young Boys at the Stade de Suisse.
A win for Rangers coupled with defeat for current Group G leaders – Porto would see the Scottish side go top, whilst Young Boys are looking for their first point in this group.
Team news

Young Boys will be without eight first team players due to various injuries.
Marvin Spielmann, Sandro Lauper, Mohamed Ali Camara, Miralem Sulejmani, Moumi Ngamelau, Christopher Martins, Vincent Sierro (knee) and Dario Marzino are all ruled out of this clash.
Roger Assale meanwhile is a major doubt with a knock to his thigh just to add to Young Boys’ woes.
Rangers have a near full squad available as Ryan Kent and Jordan Jones remain ruled out with respective hamstring and knee injuries.
Joe Aribo meanwhile is a doubt as he recovers from a knock to his head picked up last week against Livingston.
Stat Attack
- Rangers are unbeaten in two previous meetings with Young Boys (W1, D1) as they won 3-2 on aggregate in a qualifier for the 1977-78 European Cup Winners Cup.
- Young Boys have never beaten Scottish opposition in European competition before (D2, L2).
- Only one of Rangers’ last 15 yellow cards in this competition has come before half-time.
Prediction
This is a huge chance for Rangers to take another stride towards qualification for the knockouts, because I can’t see Young Boys doing much with their weak squad to stop a team who are currently in top form.
The key factor is therefore going to be the amount of respect that Rangers give their Swiss opposition because they need to be ruthless and not give too much respect to a wounded team.
I in fact can see them doing just that in a similar vein to how they dismantled Aberdeen on Saturday and taking a comfortable win.
Prediction: Young Boys 0-3 Rangers
Result: Young Boys 2-1 Rangers
