2019-20 Premier League: Week Seven – Everton vs Manchester City

Top six chasing Everton welcome second-placed Manchester City to Goodison Park as the Blue teams at opposite ends of the M62 collide in a huge Premier League clash.

A win for Everton could lift them into the top ten whilst depending on how Liverpool fare on Saturday Lunchtime, Manchester City could reduce the gap to two points at the league summit.

Everton have no fresh injury or suspension concerns as Alex Iwobi looks set to start, after impressing in their midweek Carabao Cup win at Sheffield Wednesday.

Jean-Phillipe Gbamin and Andre Gomes remain ruled out with respective thigh and rib injuries.

Pep Guardiola has a near full squad available this weekend whilst John Stones remains out until after October’s international break with a muscular injury.

Aymeric Laporte and Leroy Sane are still long-term absentees with knee injuries.

Form

Everton have won just one of their last four league games but Tuesday’s clean sheet at Sheffield Wednesday was their first in their last five games across all competitions.

Manchester City are unbeaten in five of their opening six league games with Sergio Aguero netting in all six matches, although just three of his eight goals have come after half-time.

Prediction

Manchester City were exceptional last weekend whereas Everton continue to be inconsistent, which a real concern when coming into a game like this against a title contender.

I think we are going to have to see the Everton that beat Wolves at start of this month come out, otherwise this will be an one sided affair with happy away fans.

Prediction: Everton 0-3 Manchester City

Result: Everton 1-3 Manchester City
