2019-20 Premier League: Week Six – Crystal Palace v Wolves

Crystal Palace look to make it consecutive home wins for the first time since last December as they welcome Wolves to Selhurst Park.

Palace can go fifth with a win whilst Wolves will climb out of the bottom three if they can take all three points.

Crystal Palace could have four players available after recent injuries, although Connor Wickham is sidelined with an ankle sprain until next weekend.

Scott Dann (hand), Martin Kelly (groin), Cheikhou Kouyate (ankle) and James McArthur (undisclosed) have made full recoveries from their respective injuries and will be considered for the teamsheet.

Wolves have no injury concerns to report with a full squad available for selection as Willy Boly returns from a one league match suspension.

Form

Crystal Palace come into this game off the back of a 4-0 defeat last weekend at Tottenham, although they have taken four points from two league games at home against current bottom half opposition.

Wolves meanwhile are winless in their last three matches in all competitions, having previously been on a nine match unbeaten run although they did draw their three opening league games.

Stat Attack

  • Crystal Palace have lost just one of their last six meetings with Wolves in all competitions (W4, D1, L1).
  • Both league meetings last season were won by the away team.
  • Coming into this weekend, Luka Miliviojevic has committed 17 fouls for Palace, more than any other player for any team this season.
  • Raul Jimenez has produced 12 shots so far this season in the league, making him the only Wolves player to hit double digit figures.
  • Palace’s Vicente Guaita has made the second joint highest number roof punches this season, producing four such punches on four occasions alongside Bournemouth’s Aaron Ramsdale.

Prediction

Crystal Palace will be relieved to have a home game after last weekend’s battering but Selhurst Park hasn’t exactly been a fortress in recent seasons, which is a worry given that Wolves will be coming here frustrated at having lost their last three outings on the bounce.

This could therefore be a tough tussle between two solid teams and something in me says that it will be a point apiece.

Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-1 Wolves

Result: Crystal Palace 1-1 Wolves
