UEFA Euro 2020 Qualifying: Scotland vs Belgium

With their automatic qualification dreams now all but in tatters after Friday’s defeat to Russia, Scotland take on Belgium at Hampden Park in their second Euro 2020 qualifier of this fortnight.

The Tartan Army however are six points off second-placed Russia so need to win this match to reignite their shot at finishing at least second, otherwise they’re definitely headed for the play-offs.

Scotland manager, Steve Clarke has a full squad available for selection after everyone came through Friday’s defeat unscathed.

Belgium also have a full squad available with Romelu Lukaku set to start after sitting out Friday’s 4-0 victory over San Marino.

Prediction

Scotland were unlucky to lose on Friday but I just can’t see them winning this because Belgium are too strong, although the Scots’ mixed passing play did frustrate Russia at times so might be their best hope of troubling Kevin De Bruyne and co if are sharp and varied.

I however am going for an away win because the gulf in quality will eventually tell but both should score.

Prediction: Scotland 1-3 Belgium

Result: Scotland 0-4 Belgium
