Leeds United and Swansea City collide in an early top of table blockbuster clash in this Saturday’s big Championship tie, as whoever wins this will enter September’s international break at the league summit.

Leeds United have no fresh injury concerns to report as Tyler Roberts and Luke Ayling remain sidelined with respective knee and ankle injuries.

Swansea also have a full squad available despite Nathan Dyer (knee) and Aldo Kalulu ankle) being major doubts.

Form

Leeds are unbeaten in five league games but suffered their first defeat of the season on Tuesday night against Stoke City on penalties, in the Carabao Cup.

Swansea meanwhile remain unbeaten in all competitions and have scored at least three goals in each of their last five matches, including a 6-0 trashing of Cambridge United in midweek Cup action.

Stat Attack

  • Leeds have lost just one of four Championship clashes with Swansea (W2, D1, L1).
  • In their last two meetings at Elland Road, Leeds have ran out 2-1 winners on both occasions and in fact have scored twice in each of their last three home games against the Swans.
  • Oli McBurnie scored for Swansea in both meetings last season but has since departed for Sheffield United.
  • Leeds have never failed to finish outside the top six in six previous seasons where they had scored 13 or more points after their opening five games.
  • Borja Baston has been directly involved in six of Swansea’s 11 league goals, scoring five and making one assist.

Prediction

With both teams playing free flowing football, this is going to be a great match because I can see both sides genuinely just going for it in an open game at both ends.

Swansea however are on a fearsome roll and given the manner in which they steamrollered Cambridge in midweek, they look very difficult to beat but this should be a tight result.

Prediction: Leeds United 1-2 Swansea City

Result: Leeds United 0-1 Swansea City
