With the new Premier League season just days away, there are plenty of exciting battles in store but there are fresh talent who will be looking to make an impact this season, so here are five players to watch out for over the next nine months.

Callum Hudson-Odoi, Chelsea

The English winger is just 18 years old and has only 418 minutes of Premier League experience under his belt but has Chelsea fans enthusiastic about his potential now that Eden Hazard has left.

Having been the subject of bids in the region of £40m from German giants, Bayern Munich, Hudson-Odoi has now signed a long term contract with the Blues after his successful graduation from Chelsea’s academy in which he made 207 passes in just 12 Premier League appearances.

He however is currently recovering from an Achilles injury at present but once back, expect him to be a huge part of Frank Lampard’s plans.

Yarmolenko’s first season with West Ham ended prematurely as a result of a serious injury but with two goals in five starts, he showed plenty of potential and will surely be a threat this time around if can stay fit.

Pre-season might not of seen the Ukrainian scoring goals but once he hits his stride up alongside new signing – Sebastien Haller, expect to see West Ham boast one of this season’s formidable partnerships which they lacked last season.

James Ward-Prowse, Southampton

At 24, Ward-Prowse has long been touted as an England star of the future even if doubts over whether he would reach his potential began to creep in last season.

Southampton’s appointment of Ralph Hasenhuttl at St Mary’s has however reinvigorated the squad and few others have benefited from his arrival as much as JWP, who became the club’s joint top league scorer with seven goals of which all came after Hasenhuttl’s arrival.

Now with Hasenhuttl at the reigns from the off this time, expect Southampton’s set piece specialist to progress further and stake a claim for a place in Gareth Southgate’s squad at next summer’s Euros.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Chelsea

Another young English player to watch out for is Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek after cementing himself in Chelsea’s midfield last season under Maurizio Sarri.

Bringing dynamism and direction, Loftus-Cheek will be a key figure once he returns from injury because Lampard will surely bring the best out of Loftus-Cheek alongside Mason Mount as he looks set to improve on his 6 goals and 2 assists from last season.

Mason Greenwood, Manchester United

The 17-year-old United academy product has featured often in preseason as part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s big shakeup at Manchester United.

Having played just 117 minutes of Premier League football last season, Greenwood has already dropped hints of his talent with four out of seven shots going on target in just three appearances, which is exciting but we could see a battle for the starting no.10 position with Romelu Lukaku likely to stay now.

Nevertheless, Greenwood is certainly an exciting player for the Red Devils and one to watch out for this season as part of the Red Devils’ evolution.
