After suffering defeat in Croatia on Saturday, Wales head to Hungary where three points are crucial for the Euro 2020 qualification hopes of both teams.
Hungary currently occupy the second qualification spot by three points from Wales, so any slip up here from either side and they surely can kiss goodbye to an European adventure next summer.
Team news
Embed from Getty ImagesHungary could hand Dominik Szoboszlai a start after the midfielder was subbed in Azerbaijan at the weekend with a slight injury.
David Brooks could start for Wales after coming off from the bench to net their consolation against Croatia.
Chelsea’s Ethan Ampadu will be hoping for game time whilst Ben Davies is pushing for another start despite delaying hernia surgery.
Stat Attack
- Wales are unbeaten in five of their last six meetings with Hungary (W4, D1, L1).
- Both teams have scored in four previous meetings in Hungary, with both winning twice each although Wales’ two victories were by 2-1 results.
Prediction
After conceding two easy goals against Croatia, Wales need to at their best against a rising Hungarian side and if Brooks does start then I am expecting an attacking performance.
Either way, this is going to be a hard game but I fancy Wales to just edge this if are solid at the back.
Prediction: Hungary 1-2 Wales
Result: Hungary 1-0 Wales
