2018-19 Premier League: Week 35 – Everton vs Manchester United

Everton meet Manchester United at Goodison Park in a blockbuster Super Sunday clash, as both teams chase spots in different European cup competitions.

Victory will propel Everton up to seventh and ahead of Watford on goal difference whilst United could go fourth before Arsenal play Crystal Palace later on Sunday, as Chelsea don’t play until Monday when they face Burnley.

Everton will be without Andre Gomes as the Portugal international starts a three match ban.

Morgan Schneiderlin could therefore return in Gomes’ place after recovering from an ankle injury, as Yerry Mina remains out with a thigh injury but could return against Burnley in a fortnight’s time.

Manchester United are expected to have Ander Herrera available after recovering from a thigh injury.

Luke Shaw will serve the last of a two match suspension here but is fit ahead of Wednesday’s Manchester derby, whilst Eric Bailly is out until next weekend with concussion.

Antonio Valencia is still sidelined with a muscular injury and won’t be rushed back early.

Form

Everton enter this game with three wins from their last five and are unbeaten at home in last three with two wins and a draw, having won just one of their previous four beforehand.

Manchester United meanwhile have won two of their last seven in all competitions with both coming in the league but at home.

Away from Old Trafford, the Red Devils have lost their last four on the road, only netting once against Wolves during this period.

Prediction

With Everton in decent home form including wins over Chelsea and Arsenal, this looks like it is going to be a tough game for United who have the Manchester derby coming up in midweek.

Everton however were comfortably beaten by Fulham last weekend so unless they are back to their recent best, I am going for a draw here.

Prediction: Everton 1-1 Manchester United

Jake predicts: Everton 1-2 Manchester United

Result: Everton 4-0 Manchester United
