2018-19 UEFA Champions League: Quarter Finals Second Legs – Manchester City vs Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur head to the Etihad with a slender one goal lead as they face quadruple chasing Manchester City in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League Quarter Final.

With Ajax lying in wait in the Semi-Finals for whoever wins this tie, this is a real chance for one of these sides to potentially reach their first Champions League Final.

Team news

Manchester City have no fresh injury concerns with Fernandinho available after recovering from a muscular injury

Oleksandr Zinchenko is still a week away from returning from his thigh injury whilst Claudio Bravo remains sidelined with a ruptured Achilles tendon.

Tottenham are set to recall several players after ringing the changes against Huddersfield at the weekend.

Fernando Llorente is available following a knock but Dele Alli (hand) and Erik Lamela (hamstring) both face late fitness tests.

Harry Kane, Vincent Janssen (both ankle), Eric Dier (hip), Harry Winks (groin) and Serge Aurier (hamstring) are all sidelined for Spurs, although Winks could return for their league trip to City on Saturday.

Stat Attack

Prediction

With a spot in the final likely for the winner of this tie if they can beat Ajax in the semi-final, I am expecting a proper attacking battle and particularly after clinical displays at the weekend from both teams.

This is therefore a tough one because City really need to win 3-0 to be sure but I can see both sides scoring with Spurs progressing on away goals.

Prediction: Manchester City 2-1 Tottenham Hotspur

Result: Manchester City 4-3 Tottenham Hotspur (Tie level 4-4 on aggregate, Spurs win on away goals)
