Ajax meet Juventus in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Quarter Final, with Manchester United or Barcelona laying in wait in the semis for the victor of this tie.
Team news
Embed from Getty ImagesAjax have no fresh injury concerns ahead of this tie.
Juventus will have Cristiano Ronaldo available after the Portuguese recovered from a thigh strain picked up last month against Atletico Madrid.
Giorgio Chillini (calf) and Emre Can (ankle) are both ruled out for the reigning Italian champions.
Stat Attack
- Ajax are winless from four previous meetings with Juventus (W0, D1, L3).
- This is Ajax’s first Quarter Final appearance in this competition after 13 attempts since last reaching this stage in 2002-03 season.
- Juventus have reached this stage in three of last five seasons but have progressed beyond this stage just twice in that time, finishing as runner up on both occasions.
Prediction
Ajax cannot be underestimated here after knocking Real Madrid out at the last 16 stage so this should be a tight game.
Juventus however will be a tough side to beat now Ronaldo is back and I can therefore see them nicking this late on.
Prediction: Ajax 1-2 Juventus
Result: Ajax 1-1 Juventus
