2018-19 Premier League: Week 13 – Sunday

After a goal filled Saturday, Super Sunday has a lot to live up to, featuring action at both ends of Premier League table.

First up, Bournemouth meet Arsenal in the lunchtime match before Huddersfield visit Wolves knowing a win will move them out of relegation zone.

If past meetings here and the form of both teams are anything to go by, we should definitely have another thriller on the cards.

Although the wheels started coming off Bournemouth’s cart just before the international break, they do look capable of causing trouble when fully on it as demonstrated by their improved quality of play.

Steve Cook and Nathan Ake in particular stand out with their blocks and clearances compared to other defenders this season. Only Shkodran Mustafi can get close to these two stats wise out of the Arsenal side which highlights an issue for Unai Emery’s side so expect goals here.

Arsenal meanwhile cannot afford to put in a rusty performance like they did against Wolves as this Bournemouth side will punish them, especially on the flanks which Ryan Fraser and others have exploited so well in recent weeks.

I certainly wouldn’t mind a draw here but Bournemouth will of learned from recent games and should just edge the Gunners out here.

For me, this is either going to be a Wolves win or a draw as Huddersfield don’t look strong enough to beat their hosts and climb out of bottom three.

After a recent drop in form, Wolves surprisingly dominated at Arsenal and had the lead for much of match. If can produce the same here against a defensively unstable Huddersfield side then there will only be one outcome.

Throw in the fact that the Terriers haven’t won in any of their last ten away games then Wolves should fancy their chances.

Huddersfield however have shown progress lately with four points from their last two games, despite the fact that they rank higher in defensive stats than attack.

I therefore am expecting them to perhaps try and pick Wolves off on a counter but the hosts should have enough to squeeze past despite not having tendency to score many goals.

Prediction: Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 Huddersfield Town

Jake predicts: Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-1 Huddersfield Town

Result: Wolverhampton Wanderers 0-2 Huddersfield Town
