2018-19 Premier League: Week 10 – Monday

Another thrilling round of Premier League action comes to a climax as Tottenham Hotspur meet Manchester City at Wembley in Monday Night Football. 

Victory will send Spurs above their visitors but Man City know a win will return them to the top.

Tottenham will have Dele Alli available after the attacking midfielder returned to training after a month out with a hamstring injury.

Jan Vertonghen (hamstring), Danny Rose (groin) and Vicent Janssen (foot) both remain absent.

Manchester City are set to still be without Fabian Delph and Ilkay Gundogan as both continue to recover from respective knee and hamstring injuries.

Danilo is another possible absent after struggling to recover from a knock picked up on international duty a few weeks ago.

Claudio Bravo is a long term absentee with an Achilles Tendon injury.

Tottenham might be struggling in Europe, having drawn 2-2 at PSV in midweek but are unbeaten in last four league games.

During that run, they kept three conseutive clean sheets across last three league games but have won their last two games by single first half goals. from Eric Dier and Erik Lamela respectively.

Manchester City come into this game on a 11 match unbeaten run domestically across all competitions, keeeping a clean sheet in their last six.

Away wise, the Citizens have taken two wins and draws apiece whilst scoring eight and conceding once away ay Wolverhampton Wanderers.

• Tottenham have lost their last two league meetings with Manchester City, having taken a draw and two wins from previous three (W2, D1, L2).
• Both teams have scored in five of previous six clashes with Spurs only scoring once on four of those occasions. 
• Spurs have suffered two runs of four defeats in this decade against Manchester City, which is their second worst run of form this decade against any side after a run of five defeats against Liverpool between March 2013 and February 2015. 
• Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling and Ilkay Gundogan scored in both meetings last season with the former netting his three all in second half whilst Gundogan netted his two during the opening half of each match.

This will be a tough test of Spurs’ title credentials because Manchester City are currently firing on all cylinders and will be fancied here.
