2018-19 Premier League: Week Nine – Monday

This weekend’s Premier League action draws to a close as Arsenal meet Leicester City for Monday Night Football at the Emirates.

Victory here will move Arsenal into at least fourth but if win by four goals, they will leapfrog Chelsea into third. Leicester meanwhile can leapfrog Manchester United if they get the three points.

Arsenal could have Mesut Ozil back from a back injury as they go for a tenth conseutive win in all competitions.

Danny Welbeck is also available after shaking off a hamstring injury that kept him off international duty for England.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles could also make his return, having been out since the opening weekend with a shin fracture.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos (ankle) and Petr Cech (hamstring) will both be subject to a late fitness test on Monday.

Leicester will definitely be without Matty James (Achilles) whilst Demarai isn’t quite ready to be risked here as he begins to come back to full fitness from an ankle injury he suffered against Wolves in Carabao Cup last month.

Defender, Wes Morgan is suspended after his red card against Everton last time out.

Form

Arsenal come into this game in scintillating form, having won their last nine matches in all competitions.

The Gunners however have only kept three clean sheets during this run whilst scoring at least twice in every game.

Leicester meanwhile have been inconsistent with a LWWLLWWL record but have scored in every match so far this season.

The Foxes have also had five different goal scorers in their last three league matches.
