2017-18 UEFA Champions League Last 16: Second leg – Tuesday

After a week’s break, UEFA Champions League returns with the first batch of second legs.

Up first is Liverpool at home to Porto whilst PSG host Real Madrid in a huge clash.

Liverpool vs Porto (Liverpool lead 5-0 on aggregate)

Liverpool come into this match with nearly two feet in the Quarter Final draw, after winning the first leg 5-0.

In two previous trips to Anfield, Porto has lost both legs 6-1 on aggregate so will need a gigantic performance here if they’re going to progress.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have scored more goals this season in Champions League than any other side (28), and are still unbeaten.

Realistically, there will only be one winner here and that is Liverpool because can’t see Porto offering up any comeback.

Prediction: Liverpool 3-0 Porto

Result: Liverpool 0-0 Porto (Liverpool win 5-0 on aggregate)

PSG vs Real Madrid (Real Madrid lead 3-1 on aggregate)

Neymar is ruled out for rest of season with foot injury.

PSG face an uphill task at home to the reigning champions and will be missing star player, Neymar.

There is however hope because four out of 12 teams have overturned a 1-3 deflict from first leg to advance.

Another omen is that PSG have won their two previous knockout ties against Real Madrid, but haven’t won their last three against the Galacticos.

Real are however on a decent away run, winning three, drawing and losing one of their last five away matches.

Cristiano Ronaldo is also in fine form, scoring five goals in last five matches and has scored in every Champions League game this season.

On paper, this will probably be a draw and that is how I see things finishing.

Prediction: PSG 1-1 Real Madrid

Result: PSG 1-2 Real Madrid (Real Madrid win 5-2 on aggregate)
