Manchester City vs Chelsea

After back to back 3-0 wins over Arsenal in London last week, Manchester City head home as they welcome Chelsea to the Etihad Stadium for second Super Sunday match.

City know that another 12 points could see them confirmed as Premier League champions next month, whilst Chelsea need a win here to keep pace with the top four battle.

Team news

Kyle Walker could miss out with a calf injury.

Manchester City are set to rest Kyle Walker, after the right back limped off during Thursday’s 3-0 win at Arsenal with a calf injury.

Fernandinho is ruled out with a hamstring injury whilst Raheem Sterling is doubtful.

Fabian Delph is completing the last of a three match ban after being sent off against Wigan in FA Cup.

Chelsea remain without Tiemoue Bakayoko, Ethan Ampadu and David Luiz for the trip north.

Midfielder, Ross Barkley could return to the lineup after being left out last weekend at Manchester United.

Should Antonio Conte reverts to usual formation, Cesc Fabregas is expected to return to the starting eleven.

Form

Manchester City come into this match with three wins from their last four matches in all competitions.

They have netted 10 goals in that period and conceded just once, as they crashed out to Wigan in FA Cup.

Chelsea have won just two of their last six matches across all competitions and drew with Barcelona in Champions League last 16 first leg.

League wise, they took just one win in February (3-0 at home to West Brom) and lost their two away games 6-2 on aggregate.

Stat Attack

Where game be won and lost?

Per Game Average (PGA) Manchester City (home) Chelsea (away)
Corners 7.57 4.79
Fouls 8.86 9.07
Shots 18.64 14.07
Shots on Target 8.64 5.21
Goals 3.57 1.86
Yellow Cards 1.29 1.14
Red Cards 1 1
Goals per First Half % 30 50
Goals per Second Half % 70 50

Manchester City definitely got attack covered with far more shots and corners.

They also seem more disciplined with one of best low foul averages per home game that I have seen from any side.

Chelsea however have a lower yellow card PGA so could frustrate the Citizens here.

Prediction

Although Chelsea will give it everything, I can just see another classy Man City victory.

Prediction: Manchester City 2-0 Chelsea

Jake predicts: Manchester City 3-0 Chelsea

Result: Manchester City 1-0 Chelsea
