Derby vs Bristol City

This weekend’s Sky Bet Championship action kicks off with Bristol City visiting Pride Park to face Derby County.

Recent weeks have seen the Robins’ drop away from automatic promotion fight but a win here, will see them move within a point of Derby.

Team News

Derby boss, Gary Rowett could hand Cameron Jerome his debut after he signed from Norwich City.

Cameron Jerome could make his Derby debut here as the club look to keep their unbeaten run going.

Midfielders, Bradley Johnson and Joe Ledley have been out with back injuries. The latter however may play after resuming training.

Bristol City might be without captain, Billy Wright who has had a scan on his knee problem in midweek.

If unavailable, Korey Smith will move over to right back.

Striker, Famara Diedhiou meanwhile could return to first team action.

Form

Derby are unbeaten in their last eight league matches, winning five and drawing three.

Two of their three draws came against Reading and Hull, who are in the relegation fight.

Bristol City meanwhile are on a five match winless streak in all competitions, after winning five of their first six in December.

Prediction

This should be a lively match with the battle for promotion continuously building now we are past the mid season point.

Derby are in strong form whilst Bristol City need to halt their losing run, ahead of a huge second leg in Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.

Both teams should score but I feel that Derby will comfortably win this one because the momentum is with them at minute.

Prediction: Derby County 3-1 Bristol City

Result: Derby County 0-0 Bristol City
