Middlesbrough vs Fulham

This Saturday afternoon sees Fulham make the long trip up to the north east as they take on Middlesbrough at The Riverside Stadium.

Team news

After Boro’s 2-0 win in the FA Cup against Sunderland last week, it’s unsure if Pulis will make any changes to the side which won.

Will Rudy Geste start after impressing in Boro’s Tees Wear derby FA Cup win at weekend?

Pulis picked a very strong team against Sunderland and every player who played put in a good enough performance to suggest they deserve to keep their place.

Pulis however is still wanting to get a better look at his squad so a few changes may happen.

Fulham on the other hand have no fresh injury updates, so go into this game with a full strength side.

Former Boro loanees, Tomas Kalas and Ryan Fredericks are both expected to play on Saturday and both should receive a good reception from the Boro faithful.

Both sides go into this game with a good run of form as of late.

Fulham are unbeaten in their last four games whereas Middlesbrough have only lost one in their last five, which was a 1-0 defeat against Aston Villa last time they were at home in the League.

Fulham lost last time out however 1-0 against Southampton in the FA Cup, so Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic will be hoping for an improved result against Boro.

Ahead of the game Slavisa Jokanovic had to say: “I haven’t coached in the Premier League, he has I don’t know how many games.” Jokanovic told the Fulham official website.

Fulham boss
Fulham boss, Slavisa Jokanovic is wary of fact that Tony Pulis has Premier League managerial experience

“I must respect this, and from another side I must respect myself and my team and try and find a solution to beat them, like they’re going to try and find a solution to beat us.

“We must be positive, optimistic, and I must push my team to be brave and confident, looking to win the game.

“I’ve been in this profession all my life, and I know how Tony Pulis organises his team. It’s not news to me, like it’s not news to you, or for people who follow football.

“He’s been very successful, he has a lot of experience at different levels. He was in the Premier League last year.

“I know it’s not easy to play against these kinds of coaches. This kind of organisation is completely legal, he is a successful coach and we must be ready for him, like he must be ready for us too.

“We believe and we trust that we can be successful, and we’re going to push from our side to come home with the points.”

Stat Attack

  • Middlesbrough are unbeaten in their last 10 games at home against The Cottagers and know a win against Fulham could see them go into the Play-offs, the first time since November.

I can see this game being a close drawn but entertaining affair.

I think both teams will score goals and play some good football throughout the match, if both sides turn up then I think Boro will just edge it.

However, I think Fulham will just have enough to take Boro all the way and can see this game finishing off as a draw.

Prediction: Middlesbrough 2-2 Fulham
