Bristol City vs Aston Villa

Tonight sees promotion favourites, Aston Villa travel to Aston Gate to face perhaps the surprise package of this season so far, Bristol City in the Sky Bet Championship.

After a testing couple of weeks, Villa seem to be back on track after Tuesday’s thumping of Wigan in the Carabao Cup.

Team News

Bristol City striker, Matty Taylor could return after recovering from a groin injury.

Cauley Woodrow is in line for his debut since signing on loan from Fulham.

Villa loan signing, Josh Onomah is set to feature after making a full recovery from a head injury.

Patterns about to break?

Over the last six league meetings, both team have alternated victory with the Villains taking the win in February. Will the Robins take the three points or is that pattern about to break?

Villa have however won three of the last four clashes in all competitions despite losing here last season.

Bristol City have a strong Friday night record, having won their last five games to be played under floodlights on a Friday.

Villa on other hand are woeful on the road with ten defeats in their last 13 away trips.

Prediction

Aston Villa have a lot to do because they got the most patterns to break tonight. On top of that and the Robins’ home record on a Friday night, I am expecting the home team to nick it.

Prediction: Bristol City 2-1 Aston Villa

Result: Bristol City 1-1 Aston Villa
