Boiling point

After Easter Saturday saw the action focus on those fighting for their lives, attention turns to the top as Liverpool face a tough test at West Bromwich Albion.

Manchester United then host Chelsea in a huge match for both clubs.

Chelsea are looking to push the gap to Tottenham back to where it was at start of weekend.

Jose Mourinho is however chasing a top four slot with his Man Utd side.

With the pressure intensifying, who has reached their boiling point and will see their season start to melt away?

West Bromwich Albion vs Liverpool

Since returning from the international break, West Bromwich Albion have gone off the boil with just one point to show for their efforts. Liverpool have however collected seven points so far in April.

West Brom have a fully fit squad available for selection here. One or two will face late assessments after picking up some bruises but are expected to be declared fit.

Liverpool are missing Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana and Sadio Mane through injury.

Roberto Firmino and Phillipe Coutinho are expected to return to the starting eleven, after being subbed at Stoke last weekend.

Baggies’ to lose?

The Baggies will be hoping to rediscover their quality at set pieces here as shown against Arsenal a month ago.

14 of their goals have come from corners alone demonstrating how important, Liverpool’s defence need to be.

Tony Pulis is unbeaten in all of his sides’ home games against Liverpool.

The majority of the results have been draws though making the match tough to call.

Jurgen Klopp will be hoping that his Reds can get their third away win of 2017 in all competitions here, after beating Stoke last time out.

The Hawthorns however has been a tough place for teams to go all season.

On that note, expect West Brom to return to winning ways here and put another dent in Liverpool’s away form.

Prediction: WBA 2-1 Liverpool

Result: WBA 0-1 Liverpool

Manchester United vs Chelsea

After Tottenham and Everton’s wins on Saturday, a win here is critical for both teams.

Manchester United welcome David de Gea, Wayne Rooney and Ashley Young back into the fold.

De Gea has been suffering from a hip injury whilst Rooney and Young had ankle and groin injuries respectively.

Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Juan Mata are all out for rest of this season.

Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte has an fully fit squad and is expected to name an unchanged line up.

Fixture nightmare

Both sides face fixture pile ups in coming weeks as the season reaches the final stages.

Man Utd have Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham amongst their remaining opponents. They must also go to Southampton in the final midweek just to add extra mileage for the squad.

Chelsea have a FA Cup semi final coming up so don’t be surprised if players get rested here. They then have matches against Everton and those near the bottom to come, including two games in three nights.

Unbeaten Blues

Chelsea hold the upper hand in this fixture and was the last team to beat the Red Devils, back in October.

In their last 12 meetings across all competitions, the Blues collected seven victories and five draws, just to put the odds right against United coming into this match.

Their last meeting came last month in the FA Cup quarter final with the Blues emerging victorious, after N’Golo Kante scored the winner.

Chelsea’s league defence in recent weeks has been appalling with nine games without a clean sheet.

If they concede here, they will equalise their second worst run of ten matches without any clean sheets which was achieved in February – April 1997.

Given their impressive record, you be mad to predict anything less than a point for Chelsea here.

With both teams needing points, a draw here won’t be a problem for either team.

Prediction: Manchester United 1-1 Chelsea

Manchester United 2-0 Chelsea
