Birmingham City manager, Chris Davies believes that his team have “worked hard” for their 3-0 victory over QPR.
Liam Millar’s brace and Demarai Gray’s 91st-minute finish saw Birmingham climb to fourth in the Championship with a clinical 3-0 display against QPR at St Andrews’ Stadium.
“I think we’ve worked hard for it,” reflected Davies to bcfc.com post match as he praised his players on earning the result on merit. “We’ve deserved all the wins we have got, three clean sheets was a big thing we wanted to improve on and the goals have been flying in, so it was a great day.
“I think the evidence is that most goals are scored within a few amount of passes, and the best chance to score is when the opposition loses it.
“For that you need forward runs and you need good decision-making and quality, and we showed that for all three goals.”
Millar’s brace took his total to four goals in seven appearances and Davies expressed belief in the 27-year-old Canadian to excel in the team now he is finding his feet.
“He’s got energy, he’s got quality, he’s got intelligence, he works hard for the team and he can finish and assist. He’s enjoying his football.
“It’s about him staying hungry, the team staying hungry, and keep searching for that improvement.”
Davies also spoke of the team’s determination to keep developing their game as he felt that there are still aspects of their play to improve.
“We have to have the desire to keep growing and keep improving, there was still things today we could’ve done quite a lot better.
“If we can get more consistent on that, then our results will be more consistent. “I think we’ve had a great week, but this week is about us trying to improve and staying hungry for the next match.
“It doesn’t matter what you did in the last one, the next one will always be tough, so just get ready for it.”
